Who is Darrell B Jr ?

Darrell Butttram, Jr.

I am a third generation Pentecostal pastor married to a fourth generation Pentecostal preacher’s daughter (Monica) raising  three fifth generation Pentecostal kids (Joshua, Ian and Melody).

I serve as pastor of Tenth Avenue Church of God (aka Sarah’s Womb) in Huntington, WV, and am involved in different regional and statewide city reaching/transformation movements. I’ve been fortunate to have started a prayer dialogue with local leaders and politicians which has become a major part of the city reaching movement in my area. Recently, on behalf of the city, about 20 area churches gathered together to officially invite the presence of Christ into our city…this was definitely a highlight of my time in WV.

I also serve as a missionary evangelist for the CoG and have been blessed to be a part of winning souls to Christ through World Missions, as well as pouring myself into national pastors and leaders.

I believe God has a plan for transforming communities, and while all concepts do not work in all situations, God’s plan will always work in His time as long as we are obedient and willing to learn through the process He takes us through.

Additional notes: (aka…miscellaneous personal trivia)

I was born and mostly raised in Oregon, where my father served as a pastor and church planter.

I spent a year and a half in Arizona, graduating from Pueblo High in Tucson, where my father pastored for 20 years.

I am a graduate of West Coast Christian College, Fresno, CA, in the last graduating class before ending its era.

I never finished my graduate program which took me to Cleveland, TN.  Instead I married my lovely wife. While in Cleveland I worked for Pathway Press, Westmore CoG and Sears.

I left Cleveland in 1998 to pastor in Selma, NC.

I left Selma in 2001 to pastor in Huntington, WV.

Last but not least, the reason my blog is called darrellbjr instead of darrellbuttramjr is because I found out the hard way that referencing my last name in a website link in emails causes it to be flagged by certain software programs. It was therefore easier to shorten it to darrellbjr than it was to change my last name. :)
